Fire Extinguishers

Fire Extinguishers

NFASS specialise in the installation and routine maintenance of portable fire extinguishers.

Installation of portable extinguishers

NFASS survey, tender, and install portable fire extinguishers strictly in accordance with British Standards 5306 part 8 2012.
All extinguishers are ENS kite marked approved with a 5-year warranty.

Installation would include

  • Prior face to face site survey and quotation
  • PDF stamped your plans with extinguisher type and location
  • Installation by a BAFE approved technician
  • Free staff training on the use of extinguishers and certification during a maintenance inspection
  • Named training certification
  • Installation Certificate
  • All extinguishers are installed with the correct ID signs mounted above.

When asked to quote for the installation of your portable fire equipment, we will visit your premises and tender using a summarised equipment report. After the tender has been accepted, the engineer assigned to your site will contact you to schedule a convenient appointment. At this time, you will be made aware we offer staff training in the use of extinguishers at no extra cost during the service inspection. This is an ideal way of complying with the employer’s latest regulations with the least amount of disturbance and cost.

Once the extinguishers are installed the office will issue you an initial installation/service certificate and any named staff training certification.

Your details, extinguisher type, and locations will then be entered into our database to ensure we contact you a year later to service and renew your certification.

Regular Maintenance

NFASS service and certificate portable fire extinguishers strictly in accordance with British Standards 5306 part 3 2009. We can provide several PPM plans to suit your needs.

This would include:

  • Serviced by a BAFE approved Technician
  • Prior appointment only
  • Free staff training on the use of extinguishers and certification
  • Extinguisher location or fault reports supplied
  • Certification supplied

All extinguishers require an annual service and certification. When your extinguishers are due for their service the engineer will call to arrange a suitable time to visit and complete the inspection. During the service maintenance inspection, you will be informed of any areas that do not have the minimum requirements for a safe means of escape. You will then be shown any defective equipment discovered if any. NFASS will only install or replace equipment that contravenes BS 5306 part 3 and after your permission has been granted, unless otherwise agreed.

Just before leaving your premises, a delivery note will be written, showing the equipment serviced or installed, including costs.

When returning to the office, a full location report will be created. You will then receive the certification of all your extinguishers maintained in accordance with BS 5306 part 3.
Furthermore, certificates will be generated for your staff who undertook training.

Twelve months later NFASS will automatically contact you to schedule the required service maintenance inspection.
